Nico's Mexican Food, located in Tucson's beautiful Sabino Canyon, is a cherished spot for both locals and visitors seeking authentic Mexican cuisine. With a warm atmosphere and friendly service, it's no wonder customers rave about their experiences. Many reviews spotlight the number 20 combination plate, featuring crispy ground beef tacos, which brought nostalgic joy to long-time patrons. Pennie Palmer, 75, described them as the best since her mother's cooking, illustrating the restaurant's ability to evoke cherished memories.
For a satisfying meal, you can't go wrong with the chorizo egg burrito, which left MK Regrah reminiscing about flavors from years past. Linda Freeman's recent visit had her indulging in multiple dishes, all while carrying the delightful aroma home, confirming the culinary magic that Nico's serves. The focus on fresh ingredients shines through in every bite, whether enjoyed complacently at the restaurant or on the go.
The affordability combined with the quality of food makes Nico's a go-to choice for any meal, extending even to their remarkable breakfast burritos. Customers appreciate the clean premises and terrific views, enhanced by the traditional music that occasionally fills the air. In short, Nico's Mexican Food stands as a must-visit for anyone desiring delicious cuisine coupled with a friendly atmosphere.

I ordered the number 20 combination plate tonight; two ground beef crispy tacos with rice and beans. My order came right out, and both the taco shells and ground beef were hot hot hot! OMG! Maybe I was just really hungry, but these were the best tacos I've had since my mom made them for me, and I'm 75!

I’ve been craving their food since planning our trip to Tucson (it’s been 2 years since last visit). Went today to Sabino canyon location—service was quick. Got it to-go for dinner later but it smelled so good on the ride home I had to try a bite of everything (taco, carne asada burrito, cheese enchiladas)—all very tasty! I’m sure I’ll be back to Nico’s before vacay is over.

Just as i remember it 15 years ago. Absolutely delicious . Got me a big chorizo egg cheese and potato burrito but i don't think it is gonna make it till the morning. Service was great. Very sweet.

Whether dine-in or carry out or a breakfast burrito for a Sabino Canyon hike, this place is great. Nice to have a Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood that 1) has really fresh, tasty food; 2) isn't over priced; 3) has friendly and efficient service. For breakfast, the machaca burrito is delicious... and copious! My lunchtime go-to is Combo #3, the shredded beef tacos in freshly fried (but not greasy) crisp corn shells. The fish tacos are also yummy. Atmosphere? Well, it ain't Taillevent or Tour d'Argent, but it is clean and pleasant, views of the Catalinas and on occasion when they play the older traditional music (ranchero, mariachi, etc.), it all comes together nicely.

I stopped here because it was the first Mexican restaurant I got to when I decided I was hungry. The staff is friendly and the food was excellent and quickly prepared. The price was reasonable. I would definitely go back.

The burritos were great and the tortillas have that grilled quality that adds to the overall goodness. Staff were super friendly and service was quick! Right on the way to the canyon so you can grab and go for a picnic.

Very clean and super friendly environment. It was lunch time but I was able to order a breakfast burrito for myself. My boys had enchiladas, tostada, and quesadillas, etc. Definitely if ever in the area again, would come to eat here. Had come from a fun Sabino Canyon family day trip, super close by.

Had the shredded beef tacos, and carne asada burrito. Both were fantastic. Fast and friendly service as well.
